President & CEO
Founded in 2013 on “a hope and a prayer” and an unwavering belief that families deserved better, occupational therapist, president & CEO, Sarah Files assembled a team of leaders, clinicians & staff that shared in that vision. You may be familiar with our two service lines under their original names, Your Home Health Care and Journey of Life Hospice.
Now an established and quickly growing healthcare company, we haven’t lost our start up spirit, and we’re proud of that.

Recently, JOL Healthcare launched the “Projects With Purpose” initiative, designed to connect seniors isolated in long term care communities with students through contactless, socially distanced community service opportunities. The first project was the collection of personal care and high-protein food items and assembly of 400 “Blessing Bags” for those experiencing homelessness across greater Austin.
JOL Healthcare is committed to being a leader in education from training our team to providing patient and family education, from providing teaching to community support groups to providing continuing education opportunities for professionals and all points in between.
When you’re passionate about what you do, you can’t seem to stop talking about it! We’ve provided training for caregiver support groups, professional development groups, the Austin Police Department Office of the Community Liaison, conducted a national webinar for the Society of Certified Senior Advisors, and will be speaking at the Aging Life Care national conference this spring. JOL Healthcare is currently pursuing accreditation by two state nursing boards to be able to provide CEs for nursing licenses.
We strive to recruit and retain the very best professionals in the industry and continue to both develop and support work-life integration, because we know that cared for people provide better care.
